Terms and Conditions

Thakeham Furniture specialise in selling antique pieces with an old finish. With an original finish and particularly where it has built up into a lovely patination there will be marks, scuffs and fading etcetera which are part of the aging process and form part of the character of the piece. We display detailed photos of each piece on our website, giving a clear indication of condition, but please contact us for further photographs or a full verbal condition report. We always point out any major restoration work, replacement handles etc. As members of LAPADA we follow a strict code of practise.

Payment:

We accept payment by cheque, debit or credit card and funds can be wired directly to our bank.

Where you would like time to consider a purchase we are able to hold the item reserved for up to twenty four hours.

When you wish to go ahead with a purchase we would normally take full payment at time of sale, however when a piece needs delivery we are happy to take twenty percent of the purchase price with the balance payable on delivery.

Refunds:

When receiving the goods please satisfy yourself that you are happy with the purchase.

In the unfortunate event that you are dissatisfied or find that the measurements are not as you though then we are happy to offer a full refund, excluding any carriage costs, however the item must be returned with the carrier.

Deliveries:

We have our own van and carry out most local deliveries ourselves. For deliveries outside the local area, and to Europe, we use a firm of specialist antique carriers. The item is fully insured to your door. Delivery charge is negotiated at the time of sale.

If using a delivery company of your own choice, please ensure that they are experienced at moving antique furniture and are covered by insurance.

For international deliveries outside Europe we can advise on international shipping companies for quotation. Please note that any additional local taxes and surcharges applied when the item arrives at its destination are payable by the customer.
