18th Century Bombé Commode



Beautiful 18th century French kingwood bombé commode stamped P. A. Galligne. The original marble top beautifully figured with subtle reddish-purple tones. Two short and two long drawers below, with quarter veneered fronts and fitted with fine quality ormolu mounts. Raised on shaped feet.

Pierre-Antoine Galligné was an 18th-century Parisian cabinetmaker who received his master's degree on October 5, 1767, attesting to his status as a master cabinetmaker. He practiced his trade on Rue de Charenton. He was known for high-quality, luxury furniture and pieces in the Louis XV, Rocaille, and Neoclassical styles.
