Georgian Wardrobe

18th Century mahogany double door wardrobe of Channel Islands origin. Moulded cornice over a pair of figured fielded panel doors. The interior fitted with a hanging rail. Raised on bracket feet.

Circa. 1790

Inspired by the French armoire, these pieces originate from the Channel Islands, where they were designed to be moved easily from house to house. They are dry jointed and so can be dismantled to access the smallest of houses and up winding staircases!
