Antique cheveret

George III mahogany ladies writing desk or 'cheveret' in the manner of Gillows. In two parts, the removable superstructure with carrying handle and three-quarter gallery above two short and one long drawers fitted with brass knobs. The lower section with folding tooled leather writing surface, on square tapering legs capped with brass castors.
